Gluten-Free night at the Burton Road Chippy
As awareness of coeliacs disease increases, and more and more people are choosing a gluten free diet, takeaway restaurants are thankfully opening their menu and offering people gluten free options.
Burton Road chippy is certainly no exception to this, as they modernise their menu and introduce ‘Gluten Free Night’ on the first Tuesday of every month.
Located at 169 Burton Road, this chippy is up the hill and towards the back of the castle – but it’s worth the distance, as Burton Road chippy is award winning.
They gained 2nd place in the national Fish and Chip awards in 2017, and have placed in the top 10 for 2018.
If you are not visiting on gluten free night then you can still get a gluten free meal if you request the pan-fried fish and gluten free chips.
The menu includes haddock, cod, plaice, salads and desserts; and also, caters for vegetarians with an option for a vegetarian burger with chips, or fried halloumi with chips.
They have both a restaurant menu and a takeaway menu so you can dine in or eat at home. Burton Road are also available on the Deliveroo app, so you can get it delivered straight to your door!
